Dogfish Head - Midas Touch Golden Elixer

Brewed by:
Dogfish Head Craft Brewery
United States
Style | ABV
Herbed / Spiced Beer | 9.00% ABV
This beer poured a nice golden orange color. Right off the bat you can smell a great deal of malt. The first thing I noticed was the typical Dogfish Head mouth feel. The alcohol came through as pleasant and not overly harsh. Right up front the beer tastes sweet and malty. Even though the beer is very sweet, the taste of grapes really comes through, more so than I would have though. I can also get a hint of honey. The beer is a low on the carbonation scale. I was unable to finish this beer because a six legged creator decided it also wanted to try it. However, this is one of the best Dogfish beers I have tried. You can really tell Sam Calagione really tries to offset his beers. A great find and is a beer I will pick up next. After all of the beers I have tried, the 120 minute IPA scares me. hehe....
I wish we could get Dogfish Head locally, but I’ll probably never see it here in the south.
