This is going to be quick and I am responding to something I have noticed on TV. I have noticed that school districts are pumping money into “smart boards”, personnel laptops, and an assortment of other expensive technologies. Why and the hell are schools using this equipment when they are laying off or not renewing contracts? This is happening all over the country. Starkville school district just made an addition to their school, but isn’t hiring back some teachers next year. Why are school spending money on these technologies when they can’t afford their teachers? These technologies do help the teachers, but instead of spending money to make the teachers better, why don’t the just hire better teachers?
