My wife sent me this today, and I thought it was very humorous. I started reading the comment that went along with it and I thought I would go ahead and compliment on some of them. I like to believe I am very computer literate. I have a lot of knowledge in different operating systems (OS X, Linux, Unix, XP, Vista, etc). I also know several programming languages, software packages, and the innards of a computer. I grew up using Microsoft operating systems and just recently converted to Mac. I have been using Macs for two years now, so I think I can fairly make an objective comparison between the two operating systems and the hardware on which they run. So now, onto commenting on the ridiculous comments associated with this photo.

I am willing to bet you have never used or owned a mac. First, macs are far from pieces of shit. My mac laptop is the only computer in my house that ISN’T a piece of “shi!t”. I have Dells, IBMs, and a host of other modded machines.

Installing OS X on a PC is a great idea. You by default git rid of the worst thing on most computers, Windows. However, I do feel that in terms of hardware, you get what you pay for when buying a mac. They are strong, sturdy, made of aluminum and come with great hardware. They now have the exact same components as a traditional PC down to using intel processors.

Yes, macs are easy to use. So why does that make mac users simple minded? I don’t see your logic. In my opinion, why would someone want to buy something that’s harder to use? That makes less sense. The ignorant are always the first to start name calling.

Are you for real? I have never never had to install a driver on my mac to run ANY of the hardware I use or have used in tandum. I would like to know which exotic hardware you are using with your MacBook.

This has to be the most ignorant of the comments. You obviously know NOTHING about computers in general or macs. First, your grammar is worse than mine. Second, Macs are customizable, you just haven’t looked. Three, if a program exists for a PC, one probably exists for OS X. Third, in my opinion, macs age slower than PCs. I bought a Dell XPS with the EXACT same hardware as my MacBook Pro, guess which one is already being replaced this summer? That’s right, my piece of crap Dell. I don’t see my MacBook needing to be replaced for at least another 4 years. Macs can be upgraded just as easily as any other laptop or PC. Plus, how many computer users actually spend the money to replace parts to “upgrade” instead of buying new? I say this because most computer users don’t know how to work with their own hardware. Since the apple will last you longer than a pc in the long run, and the pc will probably be replaced instead of upgraded, you should get more bang for your buck when buying a Mac. And again, there is no “certain group of programs” for macs anymore.

Everything runs like crap in Windows, including Microsoft office. Yes, Office runs better in windows and my opinion it runs just fine in OS X, but there is another alternative. ILife runs better on OS X than Office does in windows. Plus, has all of the exact same features, and guess what, it’s half the cost of the student version of office and the saved files are compatible with Office. Who knew? Jeremy, please go back to school. Macs are not made for professional graphics, music design, and scientific investigation. All of that can be done on a mac, but that’s not what is at mind when they are designed. However, I do find that all three are easier to do than on a mac. I find that doing my research analysis much more simpler on my mac than my pc.
